REGISTERED NURSE
to join their team of staff on a
1 YEAR FIXED TERM
basis.
This post, covering GENERAL NURSING & OUPATIENTS, is for 37.5 hours per week working on a shift rota basis working 12 hour day shifts and 10 hour night shifts.
It is essential that applicants have the following:
R.N. / Diploma / BSc in Nursing Studies
Completion of post registration clinical course
Up- to-date knowledge and ability to work within local & national guidelines i.e. SIGN and QIS guidelines and NMC code of practice
Awareness of NMC Code of Accountability.
Applicants should also be competent in basic ward management and working within an acute hospital setting.
Duties of this role include:!
Planning & implementing nursing care of individual patien! ts.
Taking charge of the ward as and when required.
Providing support and guidance for junior members of the staff.
Assisting in the setting and maintaining of clinical standards and implementation of clinical audits.
Active participation in mentoring students and new members of staff in the ward under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager.

A wide range of surgical procedures are carried out from routine investigations to complex surgery including major joint replacements. Over 100 consultants have admission rights and they receive support from a team of resident medical officers and highly trained nursing and allied healthcare professionals.
