Cancer Information Nurse Specialist

People affected by cancer tell us that having the information and support they need makes a world of difference to them. That’s why we’re dedicated to providing high-quality support and information on cancer, its treatments and living with and after cancer. Our information is available via a range of channels including telephone, email, as well as on our extensive website.

Our Macmillan Support Line Team provides confidential high quality, appropriate, impartial information and support by phone, letter or email. We’re currently looking for one full time nurse to join our team in London and part-time nurses to join our team in Glasgow. You’ll support people calling our national freephone service by answering their cancer questions and providing much needed emotional support. There are also opportunities to use your clinical knowledge to support the wider work of Macmillan Cancer Support. As you’ll discover, it’s a role as interesting as it is important.

You are a registered nurse with considerable oncology or palliative care experience in the clinical setting. As well as a good understanding of cancer and its treatment, you’ll enjoy working in a team, and have the ability to work independently and resourcefully. If you also have excellent verbal and written communication skills and are comfortable working in a digital environment, then you’re just the person we’re looking for.

This is your chance to help us reach everyone affected by cancer in the UK. By playing a key part in our services, you’ll help more people to have more good days.

In return for your enthusiasm and commitment, we will support your ongoing learning and professional development in a variety of ways. We also offer a range of other excellent benefits, including BUPA membership; life assurance; a pension scheme (including the ability to continue your NHS pension); childcare vouchers; generous leave; and interest free loans for a season ticket and gym membership.

Full Time hours are 34.5 per week to be worked Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 8pm.
