We are looking for an experienced Physiotherapist with at least 3 years post graduate UK based experience for this locum position which is located in St Andrews, Fife. Dates required: 15th April - 17th Ma! y 2013
You must have:
- A recognised degree/diploma in Physiotherapy and a minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience in musculoskeletal disorders, sports Injuries, orthopaedic conditions, mobilisation and manipulation
- Previously held a position as a Physiotherapist Band 6
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- Registration with the Health Professionals Council (HPC) and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
- Previous experience of working with the MOD
- Previous experience in the use of Defence Medical Information Capability Programme (DMCP)
- EuropeanComputer Driving Licence (ECDL)
- The provision of expert clinical advice and the teaching of trade specific training to medical staff assigned to the PCRF and to doctors, nursing staff and Remedial Instructors.
- Ensure that patients receive appropriate assessment, ! safe and effective treatment and management.
- Provide statistics for audit purposes.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with doctors, Consultants, the Regional Rehabilitation Unit (RRU) and Remedial instructors to facilitate best patient care
- Maintenance of accurate records of treatments and outcomes for each patient in a format that is commensurate with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy standards of Physiotherapy Practice including entering of consultations on the PHC IT System, DMICP.
- Provision of specialist biomechanical assessment and orthotics/splints using advanced computer software which will be provided.
- Initiate requests for further investigations/consultant opinions and RRU referrals in consultation with MO's and to prepare discharge, interim reports and transfer summaries.
- Show evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) and continue with CPD in clinical areas involved with the management of neu! ro-musculoskelatal disorders, particularly those in relation to sports and military training injuries and occupational medicine.
- Undertake personal responsibility in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act.
