The Post

The post will be located at the Stirling Campus of the University. The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health recognise the importance of the health and social care integration agenda that is currently central to the Scottish Government’s policy. To this end the post holder will play a key role in working with other schools in the university and local NHS Boards, Local Government agencies and Third Sector agencies to ensure that academic programmes and research are developed in a manner that supports the integration agenda. You will have up-to-date specialist knowledge of contemporaneous health and social care practice, demographic and policy drivers in the area of mental health and social care and will also contribute to the mental health field of practice teaching in our current undergraduate and in particular postgraduate degree programmes.

The School has an active programme for supporting! clinical academic careers and you will supervise at this leve! l. You will have opportunities to support work across the three campus sites of the School.

As a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health you will take a lead role in enhancing and developing the School’s teaching and research expertise in this area. Working in partnership with our NHS boards and co-ordinating activity across all three campuses, you will take a strategic approach to developing curriculum content that meets the needs of students and stakeholders alike. You will also contribute to existing degree programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level and maintain an active and high-quality research portfolio. Your research outputs will make a major contribution to the university’s 2014 REF submission.
