School of Nursing & Midwifery
The School of Nursing and Midwifery is seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual who will be employed as a Lecturer in Nursing (Mental Health). This exciting post carries a high degree of responsibility to promote excellence in mental health nursing through innovative teaching, learning and research practice in collaboration with academic and clinical colleagues, across the health and social work professions.
The post holder will join a dynamic, enthusiastic team and be able to help shape the development and delivery of a range of undergraduate and post-graduate courses to ensure the ongoing provision of contemporary education for mental health nurses.
To rise to the challenge of this post you must have a relevant academic qualification in mental health nursing, current NMC registration as a mental health nurse! , and a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline. A teaching! qualification recorded with the NMC would be advantageous although not essential for appointment; completion of the relevant teaching qualification will be a requirement within the first two years of employment.
The successful applicant will have excellent communication and team working skills, leadership skills and experience, and the ability to undertake research and publish. Significant knowledge, skills and clinical expertise of mental health nursing are essential. In addition, evidence of teaching/mentorship experience in undergraduate and post-graduate mental health nursing in either the clinical or academic setting is required. The successful applicant will also have a doctorate or be working towards one, or be willing to work towards one.
