Accountable to: Operations Manager
1. Job Purpose
1.1. The post holder will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and evaluation of programmes of care en! suring the delivery of high quality care to residents. The post holder will work with a team of carers in a designated unit. This will include responsibility for the clinical excellence within the home In the absence of the Home Manager the post holder will have continuing responsibility for the clinical management of the Home and work alongside the senior Support Worker to maintain the required level of care and operational management of the home .
2. Duties and responsibilities
2.1. To be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of care plans for residents in the designated area to ensure delivery of a high standard of care.
2.2. To deliver a high standard of nursing care to residents through effective care planning, monitoring and reviewing.
2.3. To ensure the health care needs of residents are met through timely and appropriate referral to external health care professionals.
2.4. To take responsi! bility for the management of daily operational responsibilities in the ! designated unit, including, work allocation, deployment and supervision of staff to ensure smooth running of the unit/designated area.
2.5. In conjunction with the Home Manager to set, monitor and evaluate standards of care within the defined policies, procedures, standards and protocols of the Company to ensure adherence to, and delivery of a high quality service.
2.6. In conjunction with the Home Manager ensure that all care staff are aware of, and work within, legislative and regulatory requirements as well as Company policies and procedures to ensure that safe working practices are maintained for both residents and staff.
2.7. To participate in leading, supporting, counselling and appraising care staff to ensure development needs are identified and a cohesive team approach is maintained.
2.8. To undertake induction and teaching of care staff, and participate in the implementation of staff personal development plans to facilitate and meet on-going develop! ment needs.
2.9. To develop the role by using evidence-based practice and continuously improve own knowledge, following PREP guidelines.
2.10. T o ensure that equipment (both di sposable and non-disposable) is maintained and stock managed to ensure economical use of all resources.
2.11. T o be responsible for maintaining residentsâ records within agreed standards and compliant with Data Protection and confidentiality.
3. Communication and information.
3.1 Liaise with external agencies and authorities as necessary (Care Commission, Social Services, Emergency Services including Police and Fire, Health & Safety, and health care professionals).
3.2 Establish good customer relations with residents and their families through open communication
3.3 Process all information received and required to ensure the care needs of all residents are met
3.4 Ensure that the central administration department, senior management team and Company Directors a! re in receipt of information and monthly returns as required.

4.1 Provide direction and motivate the staff team to achieve organisational and individual objectives .
4.2 Delegate responsibility and tasks appropriately and ensure adequate support to allow individuals to achieve and succeed
